After a healthy dose of poison during the New Year event, I was a bit sidetracked with some other projects I have running. I somehow decided to run a Kickstarter for our card game, to at least see if it's gonna be of anyone's interest.
Anyway, back to the usual stuff. While I have made some progress with the main release game, one which will remain unnamed until at least 60% completion, I remembered about this garbage of a game. I was yet again reminded of the reason behind developing it, and with my new found hatred for the AAA and Indie industries alike, I decided to finish the Atrocity. I hate shovelware, dishonest greed and many other things, I will make an effort to pour it all into one horrible, deadly package. This reinvigoration is a direct result of Jim Sterling's many videos. EA's, Ubisoft's, Konami's and every other goddamn corporation and sleazy indie "dev" that has defiled this sacred medium through scams and ripoffs have also had a significant impact on my disposition.
Therefore I will now complete this abomination, put it on this website, and at least be satisfied that I have expressed my disgust with the current state of the industry in the loudest manner I could think of. What is a better way of showing these corporate vacuum cleaners my utmost disrespect to their products. Batman, Battlefront, and every other past and future game out there, that's been rushed, gutted, dissected, spit out and resold in pieces, will be labelled as an Atrocity. And as such, I have to properly represent it.
I've been doing some thinking on the design perspective, and I think I've come up with even more ways to make the player want to commit suicide. The ending that I've come up with is going to be especially deadly. I have no doubt in my mind that should anyone endure 666 hours of agonizing gameplay, seeing the ending will create the urge to willingly asphyxiate oneself with the keyboard cable.
